Operating Race Rules
Intent of Rules
The organisers of this event believes in promoting good sportsmanship and fair play in the activities we engage in. This means observance of these race rules as well as generally accepted rules of behaviour and all governmental laws. Paddlers are to avoid situations where a canoe is deliberately rammed, where assaults and/or abusive language are used. Coaches and Captains from different clubs are required to support and enforce these race rules and to avoid any circumvention of these rules. Race Officials and Officers are required to do their best to be fair and not biased in their decisions and in carrying out their duties.
Safety Requirements:
Weather report must be monitored to ensure weather conditions are favourable. In the case the Hong Kong Government issue T3 or beyond, the race will be canceled for the next weekend.
A course may be altered during the course of an event.
Each race should have at least one safety boat.
Fill up the Waiver
PFD are mandatory for all paddlers. In some exception (flat conditions) a Waist PFD will be allowed.
Leash is mandatory
For OC1/OC2 a spare paddle is recommended.
Bring your phone and share your live location in the Whatsapp group. Organisers will create a Whatsapp group for all season.

Scoring Rules:
Paddlers must race a minimum of three (3) Races to participate in the leaderboard. This applies to OC6 crews as well.
Each category must have a least three (3) participants who satisfy the three race minimum requirement to be able to participate in the Leaderboard.
Point-Series will be awarded for long course only. No short-course race will be eligible.
A 12-point system will be used for small craft (single and double), with 1st place receiving 12 points, 2nd place receiving 11 points, and so on. A 12th place and beyond will receive 1 point. Only the 5 best results out of 8 races will count.
A 6-point system will be used for OC6, with 1st place receiving 6 points, 2nd place receiving 5 points, and so on. A 6th place and beyond will receive 1 point. All OC6 races will count for the final score.
The OC6 Race divisions are: Open, Women and Mixed. Only Standard Boats are allowed (no UL/Malolo).
The OC6 Series Club Champion (the only reward for OC6) will be the club that accumulate the most point across all divisions.
